Children's
teeth first come into the mouth at about eight to twelve months.
These teeth need to be cared for by gently wiping with a warm
cloth or soft toothbrush.
It is normal
for the gums in the area to be sore and slightly red, and your
child to be irritable because of the discomfort. We recommend
giving teething rings and/or children's Tylenol. Teething gels
are available that are essentially local anesthetics, but we advise
that they should only be used sparingly.
